How to Watch MotoGP in 2026: 7 Rounds Left, Starting at Motegi
MotoGP has seven rounds left in 2026, and the first is the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi this weekend, October 2 to 4. The season has 22 rounds and ends in Valencia on November 29.

Qatar was meant to be in April. It was moved to November because of the conflict in the region, and Portugal and Valencia moved back a week to make room.
This weekend at Motegi
Japan is nine hours ahead of UK summer time, so the whole weekend happens while Britain sleeps. UK times (BST):
- Practice 1: Friday 02:45
- Practice: Friday 07:00
- Practice 2: Saturday 02:10
- Qualifying: Saturday from 02:50
- Sprint (12 laps): Saturday 07:00
- Race (24 laps): Sunday 06:00, which is 1am US Eastern
The next three rounds are in Indonesia, Australia and Malaysia, so early mornings carry on for European fans until the season returns to Qatar and Europe in November.
How a MotoGP weekend works
Friday matters more than it looks. The ten fastest riders after Friday's Practice session go straight into Q2, the final part of qualifying. Everyone else has to go through Q1 on Saturday morning, and only the two fastest from Q1 join them. Q2 sets the grid for both races.
The sprint on Saturday afternoon is about half the length of Sunday's race and pays fewer points, but it is a full race start with the whole field, and it often decides who has the momentum going into Sunday.
How to watch MotoGP free
Each Grand Prix has one page on F1 Streams, listed on the MotoGP schedule. That page covers the whole weekend, so the same list serves practice, the Saturday sprint and the race on Sunday. Links usually appear about an hour before each session, with the channel, quality and language shown on every row. If a stream freezes, go back and open the next one; nothing needs an account.
