How the Chase works this year

NASCAR brought back the Chase for 2026. The top 16 drivers in points after the first 26 races qualified for it, and a race win on its own no longer guarantees a place. There are 36 points races in the season, so the Chase is the last ten, and these six races are the end of it.

The six tracks are very different. Las Vegas and Charlotte are mile-and-a-half ovals, Phoenix is a flat one-miler, Talladega is the biggest superspeedway on the calendar and Martinsville is the shortest track of the lot, a half-mile paperclip. Then it is Homestead for the title.

Stages and what to watch for

Cup races are split into three stages. The top ten at the end of the first two stages score extra points, so drivers race hard for those positions even early on, and there is a caution between stages that often reshuffles the order through pit stops.

Talladega is the race where anything can happen: the cars run in tight packs, and one small mistake can collect a dozen of them. Martinsville is the opposite, a short track where bumping and patience decide it.

How to watch NASCAR free on F1 Streams

Every Cup race has its own page on F1 Streams. Find it on the NASCAR schedule, which shows the start in UK time and how long is left, and open it about an hour before the green flag. The stream links are listed with their quality, language, number of ads and the channel each one carries. If one cuts out, go back and pick the next. You do not need an account or an app.

Sunday Cup races in the US afternoon or evening start in the UK evening, so most of these are easy to watch live from Europe.

Official ways to watch in the US

In 2026 the Cup Series is split between FOX, FS1, NBC, USA Network, TNT and Prime Video, and the network depends on the date. If you cannot get the channel for a race, the free NASCAR streams on our schedule are there for each of the six races left.
